The History of JKM Communications Meet our Team l History of JKM l Experience the JKM Value l Contact Printing and Mailing Team Thank you for your interests in the history of our business. JKM Communications was established in July of 2000 in Jefferson City, MO by Ed Zagorac to provide a solution for online directory services for membership based organizations. Ed is the sales manager for Modern Litho Print Co. MLP was established 65 years ago as a small mom-and-pop print shop. Now, MLP is an 82 employee, family-run printing company, specializing in printing and mailing membership directories and other publications for associations. Many of Modern Litho’s customers print their membership directories and a significant amount of customers and prospective customers started to express a strong need from their membership, to have access to the directory on their web site. To help take care of these needs, Ed created a separate company from Modern Litho called JKM Communications, which would specialize in building the membership directories solely online. Jacob Zagorac was brought into the JKM family as head of sales and marketing. Jacob has specialized in business management/marketing and is currently finishing his degree program in business administration. Jacob brings to our company a superb personality and a person dedicated to helping out JKM’s customers to meet their online needs. JKM then contracted Computer Centre of Jefferson City to develop the JKM online directory system. Scott Whiting, president and owner of the Computer Centre, has been in the computer industry for over 25 years and carries a vast knowledge of database/Internet systems. Scott is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and specializes in HTML, ASP, JAVA, SEQUEL and many other web applications. He is the owner and operator of JKM Communications and Co-owner of Ultraweb, our sister hosting company located in the same building. Mr. Bill Olive, program manager of Ultraweb, provides a valuable entity to JKM as a hosting consultant. Ultraweb currently hosts and maintains over 300 websites in-house on Microsoft 2000 Advanced servers. On December 31, 2001, Ed Zagorac sold JKM to Scott Whiting. Since that transformation, JKM has grown immensely in size, staff and services offered. JKM has also created a strategic partnership with StudioBB. Their mission is conceptualize and implement creativity in our work that inspires people and produces results for our clients. JKM Graphics Manger, Ben Balk, has a B.S. Degree, major in Studio Art from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, MO. and is the proud owner and operator of StudioBB, multimedia presentation materials for advertising. Previously, he was the Art Director at Information Now Technologies. INT was formerly a website production company using high level code to design websites. StudioBB produces brochures, pamphlets, logos, handbooks, business cards, signs, banners, letterheads, websites, etc. and has a great relationship with Modern Litho Printing Company, in Jefferson City, MO. Ben is proficient in Photoshop, Freehand, Quark, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and other print/web related programs. Ben's competitive edge is that he can customize your graphics to integrate all the advertising materials needed to promote your business. Today JKM’s board consists of Scott Whiting (CEO), Jacob Zagorac (Sales and Marketing Director), Viola Whiting (CFO), Mike Walters (Technical Consultant), Stephanie Bryan (Web & Graphical Design), Ben Balk (Lead Graphics Designer and Manager), and Scott Tremain (Web Development Manager). JKM has formed strategic alliances with Computer Centre and Ultraweb to provide “Best of Breed” services to its clientele and to provide stability and security to its future needs as it expands its online services to associations. Printing and mailing services needs are referred to Modern Litho. With the combined experience and longevity of JKM’s strategic partners, JKM will continue to be a strong force in the online and printing community for years to come.
